Aikatsu! (アイカツ！) is a collectible arcade card-based game created by Bandai. It is Bandai's Data Carddass game aimed at female audiences. The game works by scanning Aikatsu cards (アイカツ カード) into a data carddass machine where you can coordinate the players fashions and use them in idol auditions.
Involvement With Tamagotchi
Aikatsu officially crossed over with Tamagotchi in a product called Feat. Aikatsu! ver. which is a Tama Deco Pierce accessory for the Tamagotchi P's that introduces content from Aikatsu. It contains three new Tamagotchi characters named Ichigo Hoshimiya, Aoi Kiriya, and Ran Shibuki. New items based on the franchise also becomes available as downloads such as Ichigo's ribbon.
Later that year a new Aikatsu pierce was released, called the "feat. Aikatsu! Dream Academy ver." It introduces the new characters: Seira Otoshiro, Kī Saegusa, and Sora Kazesawa based on season 2 of the anime. The pierce also include various mini-games and items based on the anime like the first deco pierce did.
There was also a Tamagotchi-themed stage in the Data Carddass Aikatsu! game.
Aikatsu is short for aidoru katsudou (アイドル・かつどう) meaning Idol activities.
- Comparing the sizes between humans and Tamagotchis, it's assumed that the Tamagotchis are generally small in size almost as big as the torso, in comparison to human teenagers.
