Not to be confused with Chouchotchi, who is called Butterflytchi in Tamagotchi Friends.

Genders and Releases:

Butterflytchi (バタフライっち Batafuraitchi) is a Tamagotchi character who appears as a raisable adult character on the Tamagotchi Connection Version 2.

Butterflytchi also made an appearance as a debug only character on the Japanese Tamagotchi Plus and American Tamagotchi Connection.

Butterflytchi has no official caricature artwork from virtual pet releases, only official sprites. However, there is artwork from a PlayStation game, Hoshi de Hakken!! Tamagotchi. Butterflytchi is a butterfly with a large head, two small antennae, and two large wings.

Name Origin

"Batafurai" (バタフライ) is the Japanese pronunciation of the English word butterfly. Butterflytchi is named this due to the character's appearance resembling a butterfly.

Hoshi de Hakken!! Tamagotchi

Butterflytchi first appeared on the Japanese PlayStation game Hoshi de Hakken!! Tamagotchi. Butterflytchi's artwork in-game differs to the artwork shown on the cover art for the game itself; in-game, Butterflytchi has a pink body and yellow wings, whereas on the cover art, Butterflytchi has a red body and pink wings.

Tamagotchi Connection

Butterflytchi can only be obtained through debugging. It can be either male or female.

Tamagotchi Connection Version 2

Butterflytchi is obtained on an even generation by average care and can be either male or female. Its favorite food is flower drink, but it dislikes sausage.

  • A character released on the Tamagotchi P's, Chouchoutchi, resembles the in-game appearance of Butterflytchi in Hoshi de Hakken!! Tamagotchi.
  • Butterflytchi appears to be a "discarded" character by Bandai Japan as it was never given a Japanese release. The only way to access it in a Japanese version is by debugging a Tamagotchi Plus, suggesting that it was intended to appear on that version, but was scrapped for unknown reasons.
    • Because of this, Butterflytchi had no official artwork since it was only released in western countries and didn't appear in a version where it could visit Tamatown
    • This distinction is shared with Kaerutchi, Flowertchi, Toratchi and Whaletchi.
