The C-click reaction is a special feature in which pressing the third button when no icons are highlighted causes a certain reaction from the on-screen character. This was first introduced on the Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus in Japan, and in America with the Tamagotchi Connection Version 4. Reactions are different between versions, and may be triggered by different things.

Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus / Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus Akai

Baby Stage

At the newly born stage, the baby has two reactions:

  • The baby dances around in place for a moment, before falling over and crying.
  • The baby jumps into a bag, and jumps out several moments later, falling on its face.

Child Stage

Once the baby becomes a child, the two reactions are replaced:

  • The character dances and sings in place.
  • The character blows a bubble, which pops several seconds later.

Teen Stage

Once the child becomes a teen, it has three possible reactions.

  • The teen blows up a balloon and floats up the screen, before it pops and the character falls.
  • The character blushes before singing.
  • The character comes up close to the screen.

Adult Stage

At the adult stage, two reactions are changed, while one remains the same.

  • The character comes up close to the screen.
  • The character blows several hearts across the screen, before one pops and the character blushes.
  • The character spins around on the screen before becoming dizzy.

Old Stage

Ojitchi and Otokitchi have the same adult reactions, yet one animation is replaced.

  • The character stands in the middle of the screen, jumps to each corner and falls over, and then gets dizzy.
  • The character blows several hearts across the screen, before one pops and the character blushes.
  • The character spins around on the screen before becoming dizzy.

Hanerutchi 1

Baby and Child stage

All reactions at this point match that of the Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus.

Teen, Adult, Old, Special Stages

Hanerutchi characters only have one animation in which they tell the user something. What they say depends on the character.

Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus, Ura Jinsei Enjoy Tamagotchi Plus, Hanerutchi 2

Baby and Child Stages

For the two youngest stages, there is only one reaction: the child sits at the bottom of the screen and smiles at the user.

Teen, Adult, Old, and Special Stages

For all other stages, the character comes up close to the screen. Unlike the Hanerutchi 1, characters come up close to the screen, sometimes including additional graphics such as speech or multiple characters.

Chibi Tamagotchi (Tamagotchi Mini)

As the Tamagotchi Mini has no health menu icon, the C-Click reaction is used instead. If the C button is pressed and the character gives a reaction, it shows that the character needs something and has to be cared for.

TamagoChu

On this Tamagotchi release, the C-click shows the character doing something related to their appearance. For example, they may brush their hair, put on makeup, use a hairdryer, or look in a mirror.

Tamagotchi Connection Version 4 / Tamagotchi Connection Version 4.5

Child Stage

While the baby stage has no reaction, they gain their first at the child stage. Here, the character jumps up and rotates on the screen, before landing and blushing.

Teen, Adult, Old, and Special Stage

For all stages following the Child stage, characters come up close to the screen.

Tamagotchi Connection Version 5 / Tamagotchi Connection Version 5 Celebrity

On the Family series of Tamagotchi, the C-Click reaction is based on both Bonding percentage and the character's specified family.

Bonding-based Reactions

  • 0% through 10% - The on-screen characters look left and right, before making an error sound, and question marks appearing on screen.
  • 20% through 30% - The oldest on-screen character comes up close to the screen.
  • 40% through 50% - All on-screen characters run off the screen through the left, come back, and fall over.
  • 60% through 70% - The oldest character kisses the two characters surrounding him/her, and they, in turn, kiss back, as a giant heart appears above them.
  • 80% through 100% - All three characters come up close to the screen.

Pure Family Reactions

There are four alternative reactions, each available only to the four pure families:

  • Mame Family - The entire family appears, and the pet Bagubagutchi comes up close to the screen.
  • Meme Family - The entire family comes on screen, including the pet, and get their hair tangled.
  • Kuchipa Family - The entire family sits on the screen, before the pet appears digging from the ground. The parents walk off, leaving the kids upset.
  • Violet Family - The parents and pet appear, and the parent come up to the screen. The father kisses the mother's cheek before they return to the kids.
