PapaMametchi (ぱぱまめっち PapaMametchi) is a male parent Tamagotchi character. While official artwork of him has existed since the Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus, his official debut on a virtual pet was with the release of the Tamagotchi Connection Version 5.
Appearance[]
Papamametchi has white skin and dark blue ears. He is much taller and very skinnier than Mametchi, and he wears a lab coat with a red tie underneath. In the anime, he is depicted with pale cream skin and navy blue irises. When not at work, he wears a blue sweater vest and gray pants.
Papamametchi's artwork on Tamagotchi Channel was updated some time after the debut of the Tamagotchi! series. His mouth became less wide, white circular reflections were added to his eyes, and his skin color changed from white to the pale cream skin tone used in the anime.
Personality[]
PapaMametchi is a protective father who loves his family. He lives together with his wife Mamametchi, and his children Mametchi and Chamametchi. He is a scientist who works in the Mamemame Laboratory. He is constantly coming up with new inventions. He also has a softer side, being moved to tears by Tanpopo thanking him and his family for everything at the end of the first movie.
Mamametchi says that even though Papamametchi always looks serious, sometimes he can be very funny.

Tamagotchi Connection Version 5 / Celebrity[]
PapaMametchi evolves from Mametchi, Furikotchi or Hatsugatchi upon marriage. If a Mametchi marries a Chantotchi when at 100% Bonding, he will evolve into PapaMametchi and form the Mame Family.
On the English edition of the V5 Celebrity, he evolves from Mametchi; on the Japanese edition, Mametchi evolves into Tonotchi instead.
Tamagotchi m!x[]
Papamametchi is an NPC who can be visited at Mamemame Laboratory in Tamagotchi Town. He will also appear in the family photo, alongside Mamametchi, if the user's Tamagotchi marries a Mametchi or a variant (such as Mametchi from Makkakka Town or Gift Mametchi).

Tamagotchi: The Movie[]
Papamametchi welcomes Tanpopo to Tamagotchi Planet and updates her on the progress of the rocket that's being built to return her back home throughout the movie. When Mimifuwatchi hatches from her egg, he is seen taking care of her with Mamametchi until she evolves into Chamametchi. After Sunnytchi mysteriously leaves and Tamagotchi Planet gets a cold, he is seen at Mamemame Laboratory working with other scientists to figure out how to fix things. When he discovers Mametchi took the rocket meant to deliver cold medicine to the planet, he is at first worried and shocked, he demands him to return home. However, after Mametchi explains his plan to find the missing sun and deliver the cold medicine himself, Papamametchi reluctantly agrees to let Mametchi go.
At the end of the movie, Papamametchi calls Tanpopo from Gotchi King's birthday celebration to send her home on Cometchi.
Tamagotchi: Happiest Story in the Universe![]
Papamametchi appears throughout Tamagotchi: Happiest Story in the Universe!. In the first half of the movie, he celebrates the birth of Hapihapitchi and joins the main cast's families for an outing at Celebria. In the second half of the movie, he is seen at Mamemame Laboratory trying to find a solution to the magical paper tornado attackng Celebria. After Mametchi and friends go to the source of the paper tornado to stop it, he keeps watch outside the tornado's boundaries. The tornado advances and he is swallowed up in it after stopping to rescue Mr. Turtlepedia who fell on his back. Papamametchi is turned to paper and remains that way until Mametchi and friends are able to end the tornado and return Celebria to normal.
Tamagotchi![]
Papamametchi is regularly seen as a secondary character and occasionally has a main focus in some episodes.
In "A Puzzling Love Message in a Bottle", his love letter to Mamametchi is discovered and becomes a huge fad in Tamagotchi Town, getting a book and movie adaptation. The situation makes him uncomfortable as he meant for the letter to be private, but luckily, the letter fades into obscurity as everyone moves on to the next fad. He is revealed to be a former explorer in "The Adventures of Young Papamametchi" where he describes his adventures to Mametchi during a fishing trip. This is expanded on in "Man of the Sea! Captain Gotchi Arrives" where he visits his old exploration partner Captain Goutchi.
In "Piko Piko Copy! Papamametchi", Mametchi invents a machine to create copies of Papamametchi for each family member to spend time with after the real Papamametchi suddenly gets called into work. The clones act perfectly at first until it's revealed that they can only focus on doing one task and will force whoever's with them to do it, even if they don't want to. Eventually, Mametchi accidentally creates a massive army of clones and the Mame family flee to Mamemame Lab so the real Papamametchi can save them from the clones.
When Mametchi is outside during a storm with Fuwamokotchi in "Mama! Lost Child Fuwamokotchi" he becomes worried and looks for him with Chamametchi. Fuwamokotchi finds them and brings them to Mametchi who is charged with static electricity from being struck by lightning. Papamametchi discharges him with a light bulb and later watches him say goodbye to Fuwamokotchi.
In "Fashion! The Best? Eggs of Style", Papamametchi becomes very busy with finding a cure against the Eggification curse, being unable to come home. He helps Mametchi and friends find a Mysterious Plate hidden within Mamemame Lab in "Shock! The Eggification Doesn't Stop" after finding a letter addressed to Mametchi from Mamemametchi. When the Mame family falls to the egg curse in "Tamagotchi Planet's Pinch! Can Kizunatchi Save It!?", Papamametchi is shocked by the news, but continues to help Mametchi by explaining what will happen if the curse is not stopped. Eventually, he is the only scientist left at the lab as everyone else has been turned into eggs. After telling Mametchi how to end the curse at Ha Island he is affected by the curse and joins the rest of the eggified scientists. He is returned to normal in "The Power of the Bond".
