She shows signs of curiosity and wonder, as she's never been in the world before, but she doesn't need to eat or drink. Before she evolves, she appears childlike, and is distraught at possibly never being able to grow up alongside Melodytchi. She has a deep bond with Melodytchi as they always create music together.

Tamagotchi![]

After leaving her violin on her bed to go play with her friends in "Melody Violin Loses its Sound", Melodytchi discovers that it can't produce sound anymore. She becomes upset and goes back to Melody Land, her hometown, along with her friends to ask Joou Sama if she knows what's wrong. She suggests that Melodytchi should go to the Melody Forest so she can become inspired and reconnect with her violin like many musicians that have went there before. In the forest, Melodytchi finds a small stage and plays her violin alone. She notices a small Tamagotchi watching her in the bright sunlight across the lake. It then runs away from Melodytchi, who runs after it.

Melodytchi catches up to the mysterious character in "Melody Revived" and pulls her out of the sunlight, revealing the character's face for the first time. Melodytchi spends the night and next day with her, gradually forming a bond. When the character finishes humming Happy Heart after Melodytchi hums the first part of it, Melodytchi realizes that she is My Friend, the soul of her violin. Eventually, My Friend confesses that they ran away because she thought Melodytchi was going to leave her behind after she left her violin on her bed to play with her friends, adding that she is upset that she can't grow up with Melodytchi. Melodytchi explains that she just wanted to keep her violin safe and that she truly cares for her.

My Friend then evolves and grow older, finally getting her wish of growing up. My Friend thanks Melodytchi for everything and disappears in a flash of light. Melodytchi then notices her violin is now glowing as well, turning white as its soul has returned. She then smiles and picks up her violin and plays her new song to thank My Friend Smile For Tomorrow. In ""Tone Deaf" Mametchi and "Sing by Ear" Fortetchi", My Friend appears in a flashback while Melodytchi and Lovelitchi perform for Joou Sama.

Trivia[]

  • As the Melody Violin lost its sound after 'My Friend' left, it is implied that the violin's voice might depends on whether she is present or not.
  • 'My Friend' appears to be based on the Shinto animism belief that everything has a soul. Melodytchi's cherished violin having a soul and gaining a physical form is similar to the themes of Bandai's later franchise, Kamisama Minarai: Himitsu no Cocotama.
  • In addition to humming Happy Heart perfectly, other clues on who 'My Friend' was were her not drinking water even when imitating Melodytchi, not being hungry after a whole day of not eating, and shaking her head when Melodytchi asked if her parents would be worried.
  • Despite appearing in two episodes only, she made an appearance in the Tamamori Sticker collection, something that only main characters would appear in.
