[edit] The Original Tamagotchi
[edit] Generation 1 (P1)
The baby character is called Babytchi, and looks like a small black circle with eyes and a mouth.
The toddler character is called Marutchi, and looks like a slightly larger, light-colored circle with eyes and a mouth.
The "healthy" teen character is Tamatchi, which has arms and legs. The "unhealthy" teen character is Kuchitamatchi, which looks like a circle with a beak.

- Mametchi
- This is the smartest Tamagotchi with an IQ of 250. Its ear like hat resemble something between a mouse and a rabbit. and is the healthiest character that the caretaker can get in the P1 Tamagotchi. Enjoys books and computers.
- Ginjirotchi
- This Tamagotchi somewhat resembles a bird, similar to Kuchipatchi. It is the second healthiest character in the P1 Tamagotchi.
- Masktchi
- This Tamagotchi looks as if it is wearing a mask, hence the name. It is approximately in the middle health-wise in the P1 Tamagotchi, though leans somewhat toward the "healthy" side. It is not to be confused with the Tamagotchi Connection character of a similar name, Masktchi.
- Kuchipatchi
- A big Tamagotchi with a duck-like mouth, and sometimes called lazy. It is the healthiest of the "unhealthy" characters in the P1 Tamagotchi. Likes roller-skating and daydreaming.
- Nyorotchi
- This Tamagotchi resembles a balloon with a beak. It is the second unhealthiest P1 Tamagotchi character.
- Tarakotchi
- This Tamagotchi looks a bit like a potato with legs and a beak. It is the unhealthiest P1 Tamagotchi.
- Gaijintchi/"Bill"
- This is the "secret character" in the P1 Tamagotchi. To get it, one must have Masukutchi first, and then treat it as well as possible. It is known by the nickname "Bill" because some people thought that it resembled Bill Clinton.

The baby character in the P2 Tamagotchi is Shirobabytchi, and looks similar to the Babytchi in P1, only it is white.
Tonmarutchi is the P2 toddler character. It looks like a circle with a small bump on its head.
The "healthy" teen character in the P2 is Tongaritchi, which looks like Tonmarutchi with legs.
The "unhealthy" teen in the P2 is Hashitamatchi, which looks like a circle with a beak.

- Mimitchi
- This character is not far behind the Mametchi intelligence-wise, having an IQ of 200. The ear like things on its head is a hat but longer then mametchi's. It is the healthiest character in the P2 Tamagotchi.
- Pochitchi
- This character resembles a dog and is the second healthiest P2 character.
- Zuccitchi
- This character wears something that somewhat resembles a ski mask and also covers his long ears. It is about in the middle health-wise, but leans slightly toward the healthy side.
- Hashizoutchi
- This character resembles a duck, with small wings and a beak. It is the healthiest of the unhealthy characters in the P2 Tamagotchi.
- Takotchi
- This character has a periscope on its head and has a beak. It is the second unhealthiest P2 character.
- Kusatchi
- This character looks like a plant (complete with a flower pot) with a beak. It is the unhealthiest P2 character.
- Zatchi
- This is the "secret" character, and it resembles an alien. The only way for one to get it is by getting Zukitchi. Then the caretaker would have to take the best care possible for Zukitchi to transform into Zatchi.

- Babytchi
- This is the male baby character. It looks like a black circle with eyes and a mouth.
- Shirobabytchi
- This is the female baby character. It looks identical to Babytchi except for the fact that it is white.
- Marutchi
- This is a toddler character. It is unclear if there is a way to get a specific toddler, though the toddler in the first Version 1 generation is always Marutchi. It looks like a circle, slightly larger than the baby characters.
- Kinokomotchi
- This is a toddler character which resembles a blob with a lump on its head.

- Ichigotchi
- This is the "healthy" teen in the odd generations. It resembles a strawberry, and enjoys dancing.It is a cute piece of work!
- Young Mimitchi
- This is the "healthy" teen in the even generations. It is a smaller version of the adult Mimitchi character.mimitchi junior
- Hinotamatchi
- This is the "unhealthy" teen in the odd generations. It resembles the unhealthy P1 teen character, Kuchitamatchi, with a fiery head.nasty!
- Oniontchi
- This is the "unhealthy" teen in the even generations. It resembles an onion with a beak and legs. However, it is natural if it does evolve from Marutchi.so no worry if this happens!

- Mametchi
- See the P1 section. As in the P1, the Mametchi is the healthiest character, but it only shows up in the odd generations.
- Mimitchi
- See the P2 section. It is the healthiest Connection character in the even generations.
- Kuchipatchi
- See the P1 section. Unlike in the P1, the Kuchipatchi is the second healthiest character in the odd generations.
- Memetchi
- This character is orange with large eyes and a curl of hair. It is the second healthiest Version 1 character in the even generations. Likes to play dress up.
- Tarakotchi
- See the P1 section. This character is approximately in the middle health-wise, and shows up in both generations. Loves skateboarding. Also known for geting into a lot of trouble.
- Gozarutchi
- A ninja-like Tamagotchi, who dreams of being a famous ninja. He has low blood pressure, and is a result of bad care on all releases it is found on.
- Masktchi
- a shy tamagotchi that likes to hide by wearing a mask. They also enjoy just watching TV. This character is not to be confused with the P1 tamagotchi Masukutchi, which is a different character, despite having a similar name.
- Androtchi
- a word-ply on Android, this Tamagotchi looks like a robot, but acts like all the others. It even uses the bathroom! He loves tinkering in trash. Also known as Robotchi.
- Oyajitchi
- A rare species only obtained by breeding two characters: an old male tamagotchi, and an old female tamagotchi. Once tried to get Earth drunk.

The male baby is called Petitchi, and the female baby is called Shiropuchitchi.
There are four toddlers, and as with the Version 1, it is unclear if there is any specific criteria for getting a specific toddler.

- This character resembles a starfish with a face.
- Kuribotchi
- This character resembles an acorn with a face.

- Ringotchi
- This character resembles an apple that has been cut in half. It is the healthiest Version 2 teen in the odd generations. It is said to only see things in black and white, metophoricly speaking. This does not mean ringotchi is colorblind, contrary to popular belief.
- Ichigotchi
- See Version 1 section. This is the healthiest Version 2 teen in the even generations. No talk luck at my message
- Young Mametchi
- This character is a smaller version of the adult Mametchi character, similar to Young Mimitchi. It is the second healthiest Version 2 character in the odd generations.
- Young Mimitchi
- See Version 1 section. This is the second healthiest Version 2 teen in the even generations.
- UFOtchi
- This is the middle-healthy teenager for the odd generation. This tamagotchi resembles a UFO.
- Hinatchi
- Resembles a small duck. This is the middle-healthy teenager for the even generation.
- Hinotamatchi
- Resembles a fireball with a beak. This is the second unhealthiest teenager for the even generation.
- Oniontchi
- Resembles a onion. This is the second unhealthiest teenager for the odd generation.
- Propellertchi
- Resembles a beaked creature with a propellor in its head. This is the most unhealthy teenager on the even generation.
- Nikatchi
- Resembles a blob with buckteeth and a bump on its head. This is the most un healthy teenager for the odd generation.

- Violetchi
- A purple Tamagotchi with flowers for ears. She enjoys anything beautiful. Enjoys walking in the medows, smelling and picking flowers. She also has a green, male counterpart, known as Leaftchi. Also known as Furawatchi. oR KNOWN as Korotchi. In Let's Go Tamagotchi, they called it Flowertchi. Flowertchi is a different tama in this version.
- Pyonchitchi
- A yellow Tamagotchi that resembles a short bear or a squirrel possibly. He's also in the V4's as a universal character and has a female counterpart called Pyonkotchi.
- Mametchi
- This is a high-care character that resembles a bear-like thing. He got a make-over when he went onto the V3s. He's a very smart and sincere character.

- Heartchi
- A newborn Tamagotchi. Both the boy and girl versons share the same name.
- Ribotchi
- A Tamagotchi that wears a bow and has a personalty slimar to Violetchi.
- Darumatchi
- A Tamagotchi that resembles a bean. Never lies.
- Tengutchi
- A Tamagotchi that is well known for his long nose, his red body, and his sandals. One of the few species with wings.

- Madeleine Paulmier (also known as Makiko)
- An eccentric celebrity in the Tamagotchi world, she is basically purple in colour with long swirly hair and wears a bow and skirt. She resembles Memetchi, only with smaller eyes. She is one of the three secret characters.

- Young relative of Androtchi/Robotchi. He is one of the most healthy teenagers on version 4.
- Gourmetchi
- Looks like a mostly dark colored square with a face and legs. Has something sprouting from the top of his head.
- Obotchi
- Looks almost human and has a lock of curly hair in the middle of his forehead.
- Ojyotchi
- Looks exactly like Obotchi except she has little pointy ears.
- Hawaianotchi
- A little blob with fat legs; if you use your imagination he looks like a tooth with a face.
- Hawaiakotchi
- Looks like Hawainotchi except with antlers.
- Hinotamatchi
- Resembles a fireball with a beak. The healthiest of unhealthy teens in odd generations.
- Nikatchi
- Looks like a blob with legs and a spike on its head.
- Oniontchi
- Looks like a blob with legs and a beak. Has three hairs on its head.

- Looks like a smaller version of Mimitchi.

- Looks like a ghost with a bow in its hair. A smaller version of Dorotchi.

- a smart stylish tamaogtchi with blonde tied back hair with a side fringe,pink cheeks, and her signature feauture, her red boots. Not to be confused with the Pyonkotchi from Verson 2.
