TamagoChu

From Tamagotchi Wikia

TamagoChu king and queen edition

The TamagoChu (literally meaning "egg kiss") are a special series of Tamagotchi that were released at the end of January 2007. They are reminiscent of the Mesutchi and Osutchi series, with many differences. Four sets were released in Japan, with one coming in special packaging.

TamagoChu is noted as being a more mature virtual pet, geared toward the teen and adult audiences, as opposed to the original preteen girl audience.

[edit] Design

TamagoChu eggs are slightly larger than the Tamagotchi Mini but smaller than a Tamgotchi Angel, and more round, like an actual egg. They are much softer and do not feature the usual cracked screen; rather, a patter surrounds the small screen, and a plastic cover that protects both the design and the screen. The battery cover on the back features no screws; instead, the user presses down a button next to Reset and slides the back off.

TamagoChu eggs also include a fourth button, D, which is shaped like a heart. Above the D button is a teardrop-shaped infrared port. The Male egg has the button on it's right, and the female on the left.

This special pet, features the king and queen set (pink and black crowns), the moon and flowers set (blue and pink with white clouds/crescent moon and flowers), the checkered set (black and white with a checkboard design) and the rare sliver and pink set.

[edit] Function

[edit] Characters

Each TamagoChu has a set of characters based on gender. Rather than raise a character, you select one of three teens, who has their own set adult stage. All adults eventually become Ojitchi and Otokitchi.

Adults can also give birth to three different babies: Kuchiotchi, Kuchikotchi, and Lovetchi. Currently, it is unknown how to achieve the Lovetchi baby.

There are several new characters on the Chu:

  • Lovetchi (らぶっち Rabutch), a pink, heart-shaped baby with a pacifier in its mouth.
  • Donguritchi (どんぐりっち Donguritch), a male teen who looks like an acorn. He evolves into Kuchipatchi
  • TeruTerukotchi (てるてるこっち Teruterukotch), a female teen who resembles a Teru teru bozu doll. She evolves into Violetchi.
  • Mojamojatchi (もじやもじやっち Mojiyamojiyatch), an adult who evolves from YoungAndrotchi. He appears as a man with wild hair covering his face.
  • LoveZukintchi, who later appears on the Tamagotchi Connection Version 5. She evolves from Ichigotchi.

[edit] Setup

When the reset tabs are removed, it becomes evident that these TamagoChu are not altogether that similar to a conventional Tamagotchi. A winged creature appears briefly on screen, and then a time-set prompt appears. The user is then asked to pick one of three teenaged characters on the male and female Chu's respectively, as opposed to the usual egg-hatching growth process.

Once the characters have been selected, the characters can be named using the Japanese Kanjii alphabet. Then, the process of mating and building friendships can begin, without any neediness or even a baby to take care of.

A very simple, low-maintenance pet, but it has a distinct appeal.

[edit] Growth and Care

The TamagoChu requires absolutely no care at all from the user. Instead, the focus on the Chu pets is to make them fall in love and marry. The only functions the user can control is connecting the two by presing them together (so the 'D' buttons touch), checking relationship status, pressing button 'C' for cute animations, and checking the clock/time.

After the relationship between two Chu's reaches a certain point, they evolve into adults, marry, and begin having children. After a long period of time (approx. 15+ days), they become old, evolve into senoir characters and soon return to Tamagotchi Planet.

[edit] Warnings

If your tamagochu's do not connect after a number of days they get very sad and begin to cry. Make sure you connect often or they will return to Tamagotchi Planet.

[edit] Events

During certain times and phases, special events will happen. There are currently 3 different events that happen around 3 specific times. When an event happens, the toy will beep at you. Events and Times

  • 8:00 a.m.-Tamagochu wakes up
  • 10:00 a.m.-Tamagochu watches the news/TV (???)
  • 5:00 p.m.-Tamagochu eats supper
