Tamagotchi Connection (franchise)

Tamagotchi Connection (also known as Tamagotchi Connexion in Europe), is the name of the franchise of Tamagotchi virtual pets that can use Tamacom, infra-red communication. It debuted in 2004 with Tamagotchi Connection Version 1 and the Tamagotchis are called "Versions". The mascot of this franchise was Mimitchi, and was later changed to Mametchi. Other main characters are Memetchi, Kuchipatchi, and Violetchi. A wide range of merchandise including pouches, charms, and video games was released based on the Tamagotchi Connection franchise.

Trivia

• The TamaTown Tama-Go is also capable use infra-red communication and it is sometimes referred to as a Tamagotchi Connection, but considering that it is not referred to as such on the packaging, it may be classed as a "Modern" Tamagotchi as opposed to a "Connection" Tamagotchi.
• The Music Star is only referred to as a "Connection" (Tamagotchi Connection Version 6) in the Asia/Oceania/Australia region.
