Tamagotchi Life Cycle

After the egg hatches, you will be able to tell if your tamagotchi is a male or female, by it's colour. Babytchis are born starving and need alot of attention. So, straight after naming your tamagotchi, the attention icon lights up and they call for attention. In all versions of the tamagotchi toy, all babies are born with the 'Hungry' and 'Happy' scale empty. Also, Babies in all versions easily get hungry as well. Remember to check the 'Hungry' while playing with them!

Depending on how much you take care of your Tamagotchi, it evolves as a toddler. In Version 4, you get a letter and it will be accepted into Pre-school by the nursery teacher. It will be very playful and will only need a bit of attention.

Again, depending on how well you take care of your Tamagotchi. (usually a few days) Your Tamagotchi evolves. When your Tamagotchi is a teenager, you will immediately receive two letters. One, a letter telling you that your tamagotchi is leaving pre-school (You will see your tamagotchi character crying as the nursery teacher leaves) and two, your tamagotchi will be accepted into High school with a present from the teacher. When the letter arrives, you can choose which teacher you want depending on which characteristics you want your tamagotchi to learn :

 -  Easygoing (refered to Kupatchi)  --> Mr. Canva 

 -  Smart (refered to Mametchi)    --> Mr Turtle 

  -  Cheerful (refered to Memetchi)  --> Ms. Flower

The final stage of life, an adult.

When your Tamagotchi is an adult, it will get a job of your choice depending on the teacher you chose when it was a teenager and how well you took care of your pet. The range of jobs goes from Scientist to Bus driver. When the Matchmaker comes, it will give three chances a day to help choose a mate for him/her. When you agree with who the Matchmaker chose, there would be a celebration for a few seconds. (The screen should show some fireworks) After a moment together, a new Babytchi will appears next to it's parent on screen. The adult will look after it untill it leaves, 24 hours later. Until then, you can find the parent's record in the 'Family' sectionin the book icon. <center>

If your Tamagotchi is unable to find a mate, it will grow old and die.

If your Tamagotchi is growing old and it unable to find a mate, it will turn into an old person and live until it eventually dies.
